Bardex is committed to creating a better future. Our efforts align with and actively support these UN Sustainable Development Goals:
UN SDG Goal 5: Gender Equality
In the spirit of SDG indicator 5.5.2, we are actively working to further strengthen gender balance within our leadership roles, including management, senior-level positions, and our Board of Directors. We aim to have 30% representation, roughly the same proportion as our current overall employee ratio, by 2030.
UN SDG Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
We are committed to bringing our decades of experience in the offshore energy sector to the offshore wind industry. Our award-winning mooring technology, vessel launch and retrieval systems, and OmniCrane have all been recognized by the industry as valuable contributions to the future of wind energy.
UN SDG Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, Technology and Infrastructure
We are committed to establishing and utilizing manufacturing facilities that foster innovation and promote sustainable industrial practices. As we expand our presence around the world, we ensure our, and our partners’, manufacturing facilities utilize the best technology for sustainability. Our innovative OmniLift® shiplift technology eliminates the need for exposing water to industrial greases required by traditional shiplift providers. This technology also allows vessel refit and repair to take place on land, where waste from maintenance activities can be better managed compared to traditional drydock methods that happen below the water line. As more and more vessels are retrofitted with more efficient and sustainable equipment, our OmniLift will complement these efforts.
UN SDG Goal 10: Reduce Inequalities
Our business practices are carried out globally with consideration for reducing inequality in performance recognition and salary decisions. Bardex strives to provide the best opportunities for employees and interested parties involved in our business activities.
UN SDG Goal 14: Life Below Water
We strive to develop solutions that are safe and environmentally responsible marine infrastructure. Our offshore mooring systems are engineered to minimize seabed disturbance and reduce long-term impacts on marine ecosystems. Through our vessel launch and retrieval infrastructure solutions, we help reduce in-water vessel maintenance, limiting the release of harmful substances into coastal waters. Our solutions never require grease to be submerged into water as other providers’ solutions do. Across both sectors, we’re committed to protecting ocean health while supporting sustainable maritime development.
UN SDG Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
We’re committed to acting with integrity and earning the trust of our stakeholders. That means following laws and regulations, making ethical and responsible decisions, and running our business in a way that supports people, communities, and the environment. Good governance and transparency are at the heart of how we work.
